Ch. Aijalon's Levi, LCM2
Levi was my first home-bred champion and field champion. He was a joy to live with and an absolute pleasure in competition, both in the ring and on the field. He loved to play the lure coursing game but never became overly serious about it. If someone wanted it badly enough to fight for it, then they could have it. His best courses were with his littermates, where the competition was always good, clean fun and he could run full tilt without any worry. Levi was #3 ASFA Saluki in 1988, and #2 for the next two years. He never cared much for the show ring until long after he had finished his championship, just coming out for an occasional specialty. He had a blast in the Veteran Class at the 1996 National. I could barely keep up with his stride that day. He was even coming off his feet to catch bait in mid-air! Quite a change from the youngster who wouldn't even accept my offerings of liver when he was in classes. Levi was 11 years and a few months old when he died peacefully in his sleep. There will never be another like him. So laid-back, easy-going, devoted, dependable, I could go on and on.
Aliases: "Wee-why" (baby-talk for Levi), which unfortunately became shortened to just plain "Wee", the name by which he was known to all of his lure coursing buddies. Winning Wee, Wunning Wee, Wuvable Wee, Wonderful Wee, and occasionally but not very often, Wibbonless Wee.
