Here's a brief update for anyone interested.

Since my last report we have begun actual work on the database and the
problem of numbering the questionnaire. John has written (or is writing at
this moment) a program to solve the latter problem so that anyone
downloading the questionnaire from the web page will get the two parts with
the same numbers on. John is now working with the information we have
already received to ensure that the database is working properly. Once he
has fine-tuned it we will be ready to receive even more information from
the Saluki community and we all hope that we will get the support we need
to make all our efforts worthwhile.

Our web page is being overhauled by Gayle and Joan - you should check our
page at www.saluki.com/sigh in about two weeks' to see what changes and
additions have been made on it. One of these additions will be a
question/answer feedback page where you can send us your comments about
SIGH on-line, ask us questions, or make suggestions or even volunteer to do
stuff. Also in the works is a newsletter format page which will keep
everyone abreast of what is happening and which can be downloaded and
printed to hand out to those folks who do not have access to the internet.

Articles are being written for inclusion in various Saluki publications,
hopefully we can get Classic, ASA, The Saluki (UK) and the Desert Bred
organisation to accept and print these articles on our behalf. Various
members of our committee have volunteered to write these articles and we
should hopefully see some of them in the new year.

Our next biggest effort will be in the area of fund-raising. If anyone has
suggestions for raising funds for SIGH or if you wish to send a donation to
SIGH please contact us at SIGH-L@apple.ease.lsoft.com.

Slowly things are coming together - we still need the support from the
Saluki community, even if not as a volunteer, then verbal support that we
are indeed on the right track.

When Gayle and Joan have got the web page running to their liking I will
send a notice to this list so that you can all go and take a look around it.
